Noted world-systems theorist Samir Amin provides a deep perspective on the last ten years—from 9.11 to the Arab Spring—by tracing the historical trajectory of world capitalism and posing the question: are we ending the crisis of capitalism or ending capitalism in crisis?
Samir Amin is director of the Third World Forum in Dakar, Senegal, a member of the International Council of the World Social Forum and chairman of the World Forum for Alternatives. He is author of more than 30 books, including: Empire of Chaos, Accumulation on a World Scale, the Liberal Virus, and most recently, The Law of Worldwide Value
