06/06/2011
Dr. Younes Abouyoub presents updates on the revolutions in North Africa and discusses the promises and pitfalls of the Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions in the transitional period, while shedding light on the promises of evolutionary reforms and the tense situation evolving in other countries of the region.Prof. Ali Abdulatif covers the silencing of the Italian colonial genocide in Libya in western scholarship and the trauma of such memory inside Libya today. He also analyzes the impact and use of colonial memory by both the Qaddafi's regime and the revolutionary forces challenging him now. Both arguments shed new light on the social and politics of reform and revolution in Libya today from the point of view of Libya subaltern forces
